Oh yes! I heard Deonte’s speech sometime ago and could not resist sharing the link and telling others about him. I have no doubt he’ll do very well and he’s in my heart and thoughts as he begins his college studies.
This was very moving and speeches like this one are what drives my dedication to the beautiful children that I teach. I see great things in my students even when they can’t see. This young man is a living example that a quality education is the only way out of the barriers out there that hold many young African American students back!!
As an educator I am touched by the divine presence of this young man! I hope my students can view this since my district has blocked almost all websites such as you tube
