Jeff King spent a career advocating for the academic potential of low-income and minority students. He did so as a classroom teacher at elementary and middle schools, and for the past 11 years as principal at elementary and high schools.
Jeff's proudest accomplishment is being principal at Los Peñasquitos Elementary School (a Title One school with students speaking 35 languages) when it was named a California Distinguished School, a National Blue Ribbon School, and a California 10-10 school. This last acknowledgement recognized the hard-working students at Los Peñasquitos for performing academically among the top 10 percent of students in California.
Jeff is passionate about sharing practical strategies that schools and districts can use. These strategies influence students from every subgroup to aspire to attend college, and to do what it takes to make that dream a reality.
Jeff now splits his time between Los Peñasquitos Elementary School and TurnAround Schools, where he shares these proven strategies with educators across the nation.
